Based on Sophia Kinsella’s popular novel of the same name, Confessions of a Shopaholic is one of the most hotly anticipated chick flicks of the year – and it’ll soon be hitting our screens!

To say that Rebecca Bloomwood (Fisher) loves shopping would be an incredible understatement. She’s a sweet, fun-loving journalist at a small-time New York magazine, who desperately wants to live the glamorous life of a fashion writer. Unfortunately, she’s slowly drowning in a sea of debt due to her shopping addiction which has spiralled out of control.

Rebecca dreams of scoring a role at her fave fashion magazine, but just can’t seem to get her foot in the door – until she manages to score a role as an advice columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. Her column is an overnight success and she instantly becomes a celebrity. Even her romantic prospects are looking up thanks to her boss, wealthy entrepreneur Luke Brandon (Dancy).

As her career and love life finally take off, Rebecca begins to take increasingly extreme and hilarious measures to prevent her past from ruining everything she’s been working so hard for. However, she will eventually need to decide whether her outrageous shopping sprees are truly making her happy or if other things in life are more important…

Isla Fisher has come a long way since her 1990’s stint as the flame-haired Shannon Reed on Home and Away. She is great – if a little overly perky – for the role of likeable, klutzy Rebecca. Isla has proved she can do comedy well – perhaps she’s taken tips from partner Sacha Baron Cohen?

The storyline is predictable, but if you’re a fan of the typical chick flick, this one has all the key goodies – comedy, romance and an enviable fashion collection. So round up the girls and head to the movies for a great laugh.

You may even pick up some fantastic dance moves… (Keep an eye out for the scene involving Fisher, Dancy and a fan…)
