5 anti-aging foods to add to your diet

There are so many lotions, serums and creams out there that supposedly help fight aging, but did you know that there are certain anti-aging foods that could help you from the inside out? Here are our top five anti-aging foods that are not only tasty and nutritious, but could also help you look and feel younger.

These little berries are packed with antioxidants and can help reduce cancer risk, help with short term memory loss, lower cholesterol and assist in preventing brain aging among a whole other raft of benefits.

Leafy Greens
You know how a lot of beauty products contain Vitamin E? Leafy greens such as spinach and romaine lettuce are a great source of it (as are other foods like whole grains and nuts). A decent side salad can help decrease inflammation and improve the health of your eyes and skin.

Vitamin C
Most people think of fighting off colds and flu when it comes to Vitamin C, but did you know it’s actually more important for skin health? It can help repair damaged body tissues and lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You can eat citrus fruits like oranges and mandarins, or you can add more Vitamin C into your diet with broccoli, strawberries, capsicums or kiwifruit.

Omega-3 fatty acids
As opposed to the bad fats usually found in takeaways, healthy fats can actually help prevent heart disease, lower cholesterol and lower blood pressure. A few servings a week of coldwater fish (such as salmon, sardines or tuna) can do the trick, or if you aren’t a fish fan you can buy a cost-effective fish oil supplement from your local supermarket or pharmacy.

Green Tea
Just one cup a day of this tasty, low calorie drink can help protect your body from cancer and heart diseases, while also assisting in weight loss and management. It also has powerful antioxidents that help prevent aging, which is why you can often find green tea in anti-aging beauty products.
